Amendment Number Nine

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

 As we take a look at this amendment one cannot help but think this is the amendment that keeps the rights of the people that are not expressed in the constitution with the people.  If you think about it do you really want the government of the United States telling you how it is that you are supposed to eat, what you are supposed to eat, how to take care of your body, or even if you can do certain things with your body or not?  This is where the prenumbra accounts of the constitution take effect, in particular one of the most debated arguments under the ninth amendment is whether or not abortion should or should not be legal!  This is something that is construde as a debate between murder of the unborn, and the point of doing to a body what one chooses.  Where is the point of life to weigh in on pro-life debate?  What constitutes your own body, as the pro-choicers rally?  Regardless this amendment takes into account the fact that people are free to do what it is that they choose and that regardless of expression in the constitution certain things are just implied.

Hilarious Video Clip 




A hilarious example of what it is thought about today of some of the aspects of abortion which is as I said before the most debated aspect of the ninth amendment.  Although medically possible in some regard the fact that someone came up with this video denoting the reckless nature of todays youth in extreme sports versus abortion is quite compelling.  Along with this is the closing clip about the free abortion punch card.  Although I am sure the advisement of multiple abortions is ill advised I dont doubt that if available there would be several people trying to take advantage of such as program.

The history behind the Morning After or EC pill is a long and arduous road to being over the counter in the form that it is as well as being available to those over the age of 18 without a prescription.  The larger debate at hand here is whether or not this makes the youth of today more promiscuous in their sexual activity, adds carelessness to sexual activity or if the EC pill is a form of early abortion.  Again we are at a crossroads on the issue of point of life, but the other arguments are what are the heart of the problem.  Is it the government's job to regulate the sexual activity of the populace?  Are we, as citizens responsible to make our own decisions on whether or not to use these types of medications to affect our own body and the way that it works?  The government makes drugs illegal but only considers the use of, or public intoxication by them to be a societal problem, not a "law" making problem.  So where in morality should the government keep its nose out?  That is for We the People to decide.
